Your medication information stays on your device by default. If you choose caregiver pairing, DoseAlert sends only the paired dose information and encrypted proof photos needed for that feature through Firebase.
DoseAlert stores the following information locally on your device to provide medication reminder functionality:
If you use the prescription label scanning feature, the photo is captured by your device's camera, processed entirely on your device using on-device text recognition, and immediately discarded from memory. No images are stored in the app's data. No images are transmitted over any network. The only data retained is the medication information you choose to save after reviewing the scan results.
Medication data is stored locally on your device. Optional caregiver pairing uses Firebase for pairing, push delivery, paired dose status, and temporary transfer of end-to-end encrypted proof-photo packages. Proof-photo packages are deleted after caregiver import or within 24 hours. Firebase does not receive the decryption key.
You can export your data as a file at any time using the backup or export features in Settings. This creates a local file on your device that you can share via your phone's share sheet (email, messaging, file storage). DoseAlert does not control where you send this file and does not have access to it after export.
DoseAlert offers a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple or Google. DoseAlert does not process payments directly and does not have access to your payment information (credit card number, billing address, etc.).
DoseAlert stores a local record of your purchase status (purchased or not purchased) to unlock app features. This record does not contain any payment details.
DoseAlert uses local reminders for your medication schedule. Optional caregiver alerts and Live Activity delivery use Firebase push services.
DoseAlert does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app can be used by caregivers to manage medications for family members of any age. If caregiver pairing is enabled, alert details and paired dose tracker status can be transmitted through Firebase.
You can delete all DoseAlert data at any time by:
Uninstalling removes local data. If caregiver pairing was enabled, unpair first to deactivate the cloud connection. Temporary encrypted proof-photo packages are deleted after import or within 24 hours.
